Ingredient
Triclosan
Risky
What is this ingredient, what does it do?
Antibacterial (banned in most EU products, endocrine concern)
What is it, what should you do?
An antibacterial additive; because of its effect on the hormone system and its contribution to antibiotic resistance it was banned in antibacterial soaps in the USA and severely restricted in the EU. Ordinary soap already does the same job; if you see it on a label, choosing an alternative product is sensible.
