A fatty ester that gives a formula a smooth texture and slip. Its comedogenic (pore-clogging) potential is assessed as medium-to-high, so it can sometimes trigger clogging on acne-prone skin. It usually causes no problem on normal or dry skin; on acne-prone skin it is sensible to monitor the skin's reaction when trying a product.
