What is it, what should you do?

A helper substance used to adjust a product's pH and hold some components together. It is usually problem-free at low concentrations and in rinse-off products, but it can rarely cause irritation on some sensitive skin. Its use at high concentrations is not recommended, but the amounts in cosmetic products are below this limit.
